Running and homelessness are not two things you usually associate with one another… but Back on My Feet is changing that. Back on My Feet (http://www.backonmyfeet.org), a national organization operating in 12 major cities coast to coast, combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources. In DC, Back on My Feet participants are changing their lives one mile at a time, and you can be a part of their journey! You could join BoMF for a morning run, “fundrace” for a your favorite DC race, or be a part of the BoMF Clothing Drive sponsored by the NoVA Running Club!
We are currently in need of your new and gently used running clothes and shoes – especially hats and gloves given the cold weather! Please feel free to bring your donations to all NOVA sponsored runs. Robbie Brusso (firstname.lastname@example.org) will collect them there. If you are unable to make it to the group workouts, Robbie will meet you at another time to collect your donations.
Robbie has been a volunteer with BoMF since last May and finds the experience incredibly rewarding. He thanks you in advance for your donations that will help keep our members committed to their running goals – and keep them sufficiently warm during those winter 5:45am runs!
